Abstract

This paper introduces the application of Shooting and Bouncing Rays (SBR) analysis utilizing conical ray tubes to three-dimensional urban mesh scenes, and rigorously validates its accuracy through comparison with a commercial MATLAB Toolbox. Uniform direction sets are generated via icosahedral subdivision, followed by strict definition of ray tube coverage to include the midpoints of adjacent spherical triangles. Reflection tracing is implemented based on the Moller-Trumbore algorithm, with computational efficiency enhanced by an Axis-Aligned Bounding Box(AABB)-based Bounding Volume Hierarchy (BVH). The received electric field is aligned and projected according to the receive polarization for each intercepting path, and cumulative propagation effects are obtained via complex vector synthesis. This framework simultaneously ensures stable path exploration and consistent electric field synthesis, with all procedures in the urban pathloss analysis executed using custom-developed simulation code.
