Abstract

The shipbuilding industry follows a customized production approach, where the design process begins after receiving an order from the shipowner, and vessels are constructed through collaboration with subcontractors. However, external subcontractors often do not receive design and production information from shipyards in a timely manner or face difficulties in applying the provided data due to variations in information systems across shipyards. This study aims to enhance productivity in the shipbuilding industry by analyzing inefficiencies in production information sharing and designing a collaborative platform that enables real-time sharing of design and production data between shipyards and subcontractors. Additionally, it proposes standardizing the diverse design and production information used by different shipyards to reduce subcontractors' preparation time and improve overall productivity. By minimizing errors and rework and increasing the flexibility of production planning, this study seeks to contribute to the enhanced productivity of subcontractors.
