Abstract

Future weapon systems and unit structures are evolving rapidly, significantly impacting the design of multi-layer integrated networks and information exchange analysis. However, prior studies have not fully incorporated recent changes in military strategies or future operational environments. This study addresses the gap by analyzing key strategic documents—such as the "Army Force Structure Plan," the "Joint Military Strategic Objective Plan," and the "Long-term Weapon System Development Plan"—to redefine the 2040 Army brigade structure and associated weapon systems. Based on this, we updated the Information Exchange Requirement (IER) and used a self-developed MATLAB simulation to analyze expected data traffic. The results show that the wheeled infantry brigade requires approximately 9.2 Mbps for uplink to the division, 2.7 Mbps for downlink from the division, 22.6 Mbps for uplink from subordinate battalions, and 7.1 Mbps for downlink to those battalions. These findings provide practical guidance for efficient resource use and reliable data transmission in future integrated tactical networks.
