Abstract

Information security(InfoSec) has become a crucial element ensuring safety and stability in modern society. Particularly for military and law enforcement personnel, information security is of utmost importance. Therefore, this paper examines cases of security education programs designed for security professionals in military and public institutions conducted at J University. The education content was structured based on the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education(NICE) framework and related research for curriculum development. The programs included the ‘Security Academy for Security Personnel in Military’, ‘Metaverse Security Course for Military Officers’, and ‘Industrial Technology Protection Academy for Public Sector Employees’. Specific topics covered in the education included security officer duties, security inspection theory, recent hacking cases, and security methodologies. Practical exercises were conducted to enhance participant understanding, alongside dedicated time exploring the utilization of metaverse technology for security purposes. The satisfaction survey conducted to analyze the effectiveness of the education revealed consistently high satisfaction scores of at least 4.44. Participants highlighted the beneficial opportunities for communication with experts and expressed that the practical exercises were helpful. Moreover, there was feedback requesting expanded education on security incident cases. Subsequent research should reflect participant feedback to redesign security education programs, evaluate their direct contribution to enhancing participants' security awareness and expertise, and investigate correlations accordingly.
